Title Sketch; John Falter; River Raft
Object Name Sketch
Description Pencil Sketch of three figures on a river raft. The scene is seen from a birds-eye view. There is land to the top of the scene which extends all the way to the horizon. The raft is to the bottom proper right of the picture and is on the river. One figure is guiding the raft and the other two are at the front--one standing and one sitting. There is a small area of land on the bottom proper left of the scene. There is a squiggly circle on the river towards the proper right with Falter has identified as "moon reflection." On the left margin he noted "eagle on nest--(there are still eagles living on the river.' There is an arrow from this note to the tree on the bottom proper left. On the bottom margin he's noted "CH 13" "I think this would be a hell of a fine illustration J.F." On the top of the scene, with arrows to the landscape near the horizon line Falter has written "HALF OF ILLINOIS"
