Object Name Clipping, Magazine
Description Magazine clipping from Good Housekeeping magazine. Color offset lithograph on white paper. Clipping features an advertisement for Campbells soup on one side and Chesterfield cigarettes on the other. The Campbell's ad features an illustration on the upper right corner of a soup boiling in a kettle hanging over a fire in a stone hearth. A hand is stiring the soup from the right edge. Along the left edge is a red, white, and blue ribbon with two smaller illustrations of a winter scene with a man walking through blowing snow to a cabin and a man getting out of his car in autumn to walk into his house. Both scenes have a woman waiting in the doorway. The ribbon winds around the scenes to a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup and a blue bowl of soup on a plate. Two columns of copy text are printed on the lower right. The company's name and product name are printed on the lower right. The Chesterfield ad features Marion Hutton, a blonde woman viewed from the back, in a red dress with "1941" designed in sparkling stones on her back. Hutton has a cigarette in one hand. A Chesterfield carton is perched on a mircophone stand in front of her. Her name and credentials are printed to the left of her. Across the bottom "Chesterfield" is printed in sparkling stones. On the lower right is copy text with the tag: "They Satisfy" in red. On the lower left corner is the magazine name and date.
