Description Bright iron alloy with copper alloy dag, bands, and throat. The dag has a striated pattern. There are two copper alloy bands, each with a copper alloy ring.

History This saber belonged to Colonel William Bischof Jr. Bischof was born in Nebraska City and atteneded Annapolis Naval Academy in the late 1880s. He returned to Nebrask and served in the Nebraska National Guard, including three years as Colonel of the Second Infantry. He is said to have been with troops near Chadron during the battle of the Little Bighorn. He later worked as a salesman for the Western Stove Company and was president of the King Drill Manufacturing Company.
