Title Drawing; John Falter; Graphite
Object Name Drawing
Description Graphite drawing on tracing paper. The drawing features the drawing of five cars and one bus. The tracing paper overlays a color lithograph print. The print, "Peytona and Fashion" by C. Severin and N. Currier, was printed by the New York Graphic Society. The print features a race track with people lining the track. The print depicts a birds-eye view of a track corner. People are excitedly watching as two horses race around the corner with their jockeys. Buildings are erected on the left edge of the track. The infield has carriages and people milling around. In the background is the outline of the track and people standing around it. Stands are visible as will as distant hills. An American Flag flies on the left. The sky is a clear blue and yellow. Beneath the print is a char with names and race times. The title "Peytona and Fashion" is printed in block letters with a subtitle declaring purse amounts. Beneath the print corners are the artist and publisher information. The print has a black line border. The print has a second border with ragged tan edges. Along the bottom of the print is the printer's name and location of printing. The tracing sheet is taped to the upper right corner and overlays so that a car is racing around the corner and that the four other cars and bus are in the infield.
