|History||This object belonged to Howard J. Finley, who taught in the Grand Island school system beginning around 1921 until his death in 1958. He also taught in Kearney for several years prior to 1921. Finley was the first principal of the R.J. Barr Junior High in Grand Island (established around 1923). When the new Grand Island High School was built, Finley became principal of Walnut Junior High, which occupied the old Senior High School building. He served there as principal until his death.|
