Description Color offset lithograph on white paper. May 8, 1943 Saturday Evening Post magazine featuring cover art by John Falter. The illustration, "Letter from Overseas," is of an older woman in a purpled dress and red coat leading a letter at the mailbox in the foreground. She has the postal cover in the left hand pressed to her chest and the other hand holding the letter out to be read. She is leaning on the mailbox. In the background is a corn field bordered by a white fence. Up the hill a red barn and the roof of a yellow house is visible. Trees are standing between the two buildings. A dirt road leads from the mailbox up to the buildings. On the lower right of the cover is the artist's signature. At the top of the cover is the title of the magazine, date, and a sample listing of articles contained in the magazine.
