History Made by the Oriental Trading Co. in 1999 in the style of a "Beanie Baby" which was a beanbag style toy that was very popular at the time. The Oriental Trading Co. began in 1932 as one of the nation's first wholesalers of value-priced novelties and gifts. In the 1950s they were a major supplier to the U.S. carnival trade. Their catalog and internet business grew over the years. As of 2010, their audience includes businesses, not-for-profit organizations, individuals, schools, churches and teachers. The company is headquartered in Omaha and as of 2010 employs around 3,000 employees at five locations in the Omaha metro.
It is owned by The Carlyle Group.

This was an advertising product for Roberts Dairy, which was founded in 1906 in Lincoln. By the turn of the 21st Century, the dairy had plants in Des Moines and Iowa City, Iowa, Kansas City, Missouri, and Omaha.
