Description Charcoal drawing on brown butcher paper. Drawing of a Revolutionary War battle. In the background in a line of British soldiers, in the center are two British flags. In the foreground are American soldiers in a line. Some are firing or loading. In both lines soldiers are falling/have fallen. Behind the American line, soldiers march. Between the American and British lines are clouds of smoke. On the left edge, a cannon has blown apart and soldier lie around it. Another cannon is being pushed toward the right by soldiers. The drawing was drawn on two sheets of paper taped together in the center. The drawing is a rough sketch for the oil painting "Battle of Brandywine."
