Description Color offset lithograph on white paper. Printing proof for a magazine. One sheet folded down middle to create four pages. Printed on the paper is the story "Eagle Squadron" by C.S. Forester with illustrations by John Falter. The first page, 81, features a book with a cover that has a pilot saluting as he sits in his cockpit of his fighter plane. Written on the bottom edge in ink: "Combination Art Naval and Clark Gable". Page 82 features text and three illustrations of men in pilot gear in a close-up view. The illustrations are circular with two printed at the top and one on the bottom. Written between the two circles on the top: "Monks" and arrows pointing to either circle. Page 83 features a woman sitting in front of a switchboard with one hand reaching for the board and the other pressing her headphones to her head. The view is a close-up of the woman, board, and candlestick phone sitting in front of her. The illustration is signed "John Falter" on the lower right. "Dec. 41" is written in graphite on the bottom right. Page 84 features an illustration of a sky fight on the left side and text on the right. Planes are flying in formation, engaging in dog fights, and crashing against a red sky. The illustration is signed "JF" on the bottom left.
