Description Color offset lithograph on white paper. Cover for the magazine Western Story, published by Street & Smith. The cover is orange with an image featuring a brown-haired man in a green shirt and blue tie with leather cuffs on his wrists holding a gun. The man is leaning forward with bushes to the left and right of him. The artist's signature is signed in green on the bottom left of the image. Above the image is black and white text: "Street & Smith's // Dec. 5. 1931 // Western Story // Magazine // Every Week // Hawks and Eagles // By George Owen Baxter." Below the image is white text: "Johnston McCulley - Edward Leonard // Charlotte Dockstader." A yellow square on the upper left corner has red print in it: "15 ¢ // In U.S.A." On the left edge is the spine of the magazine with the date and name of the magazine printed in black. On the reverse side is a black text ad advertising "Sensational Values" on jewelry from the Royal Diamond & Watch Co. The ad text is accompanied by illustrations of rings and watches.
