History This doll was collected by Elizabeth Gaylord Rathburn of Lincoln. Elizabeth was born in Fairmont, Nebraska. She married Howard Martin Rathburn in 1898. Howard was a general manager of Western Supply Company in Lincoln. They had four children: Winthrop, Margaret, Lois and Bette. Rathburn compiled an extensive collection of dolls from around the world, and donated them to the Nebraska State Historical Society in 1948.
