Description Magazine clipping. Offset lithograph on white paper. Clipping from the Saturday Evening Post magazine featuring a Pall Mall advertisement on one side and a story on the other. The Pall Mall advertisement features an illustration on the top half of a ship architect sitting at a desk across from a Naval Officer. He has reddish-brown hair and is wearing glasses, a button-down shirt with a tie and a vest. Blueprints for a ship lay in front of him, but he is comparing two different cigarettes to a Naval Officer in a blue uniform and cap. Underneath the illustration is the text "Here's a basic improvement in cigarette design!" The illustration is signed by the artist, John Falter, on the lower right of the illustration. On the bottom half of the ad is ad copy. On the left edge of the ad is a carton of Pall Mall cigarettes. A diagram is printed on the bottom right of the ad for comparing cigarette length.
