Description Nine individual color print illustration proofs for the book, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, taped together. The first illustration is of a boy wearing a staw hat, cutoffs, a white shirt and suspenders walking and carrying a stick. The second illustration is of a grey fence half painted white with weeds growing at the base. The third illustration is of the same grey fence with the title of the book painted on the fence in white. The author and illustrator's names are printed in black beneath. A bucket and a brush sit at the base of the grey/brown fence. The fourth illustration is of two men fighting in a graveyard in a thick forest. Two boys watch from behind a tree. The fifth illustration is of a boy walking to the front of a classroom to a waiting teacher brandishing a switch. His classmates watch. The sixth illustration is of two boys walking through a yellow field toward a broken down house carrying shovels. On the left edge of the paper is a black ink stamp with the printer's name and print information written in ink. The seventh illustration is of a river banked by trees. Lights are visible in the forest on the right bank in the background. The eighth illustration is of a raft on a river. Three figures are standing on the raft. The ninth illustration is of a figure wearing a navy coat, pants, and cap dragging a broom behind him. The figure is drawn from the back.
