Description View of bombing attack. In the foreground the heads and shoulders of two helmeted soldiers are shown with large anti-aircraft gun between them. It is pointing in a sharp upward oblique line and emitting fire. Beyond the foreground across an expanse of water the massive yellow and orange clouds of explosions on the shore, fill right middle area, contrast with surrounding brown billows of smoke above and left, and dominate the scene. In the left distance a horizontal frame of metalwork is partly visible. Clouds of explosion are rendered with heavy application of yellow and red pigment.
