A shirt sleeve is visible on the forearm. The drawing has a graphite frame. Notes written by the artist on the bottom edge of the board. "40% reductions" is written in blue ink. "15" is written twice on the lower right corner in red ink. "295" is written in graphite on the lower right corner. "Twain: Tom Sawyer" is written in the lower left corner below "[illegible] Joe's Hand." The board has a sheet of paper taped at the top for a cover.
