Description Color offset lithograph on white paper. January 7, 1950 Saturday Evening Post magazine featuring cover art by John Falter. The illustration, "Joint Session of Congress," is of the United States Government in session. President Harry S. Truman stands at a podium addressing congress in the House of Representatives chamber at the United States Capitol. Men in suits are seated in benches forming a semi-circle around the podium. Behind the President are the Vice President and the House Speaker seated in front of the American Flag. In the gallery above the floor more people are seated. The walls of the house are blue and gold with ornate patriotic designs. On the lower left corner of the cover is the artist's signature. At the top of the cover is the title of the magazine, date, and a sample listing of articles contained in the magazine. Page 3 has a blurb about the artist and the cover. Page 73 in the magazine has a chart that identifies each person in the cover.
