Description Magazine clipping from Liberty published by Macfadden Publications. Color offset lithograph on white paper. The clipping features a black and white illustration of a man in a tuxedo is seated at a table in a ballroom with a woman in a dress. The man is smoking a cigarette and holding a glass of liquor. The woman is turned away from the table, looking ill, and holding a wine glass. In the background are dancing couples and to the right is another table with a man sitting at it. Beneath the illustration is a caption: "As the Liquor rose she passed from a lady completely superior to a lady of more tolerance." The illustration is framed by a white line and a grey frame. The illustration is signed by the artist on the lower left. "25" is printed on the lower right corner. The clipping is dated in graphite on the upper left corner: "5/5/34." On the reverse side is another illustration at the top of the page and two columns of text beneath. "26" is printed on the lower left corner. The illustration signed "JF" on the lower left is of two women in a living room. One woman is seated on a chair next to a couch. She is holding her head with one hand. A second woman is kneeling on a chair next to the couch with one hand pressed to her chest. The couch has a wrapped body lying on it. The black shoes of the body are hanging off the end of the couch. Two lines of dialogue are printed above the illustration on the left.
