Object Name Quilt
Description Ohio Star Quilt. Cotton fabrics. Predominate colors are white and a very faded brown. The colored pieces are very deteriorated. It is quited with a feathered star in between the blocks. There is a border on two sides that is quilted with a leaf motif. It has a thin, presumably cotton batting. The Star blocks are set on point. It is hand pieced and quilted at 8 stitches per inch.

Vore, Sarah
History Jacob and Sarah Vore came from Dublin,suburb of Richmond, Indiana in early 1870's to Omaha Indian Reservation where he had been sent as Government Indian Agent. They bought the quilt with them, then later gave it to daughter Mary Vore Taylor, then to daughter Sarah Vore Taylor of he Omaha. Later passed to her cousin, Anna Taylor Vore, Lincoln, Nebraska.
