Object Name Painting
Description Oil on canvas. Painting of an older man wearing a black sweater and a white hat viewed from behind leaning forward with his cane raised over his head at a man in a suit holding out his hands to halt him. The man is wearing a white suit and is holding a pipe in the left hand. The two are seated outside a house on a porch. To the right is a woman seated on a wooden chair. A cat is rubbing against her leg. The woman, wearing a white shirt, pants, and boots, is leaning forward resting her crossed arms on her crossed legs. On the lower right corner is an illustration of a broken cart with a horse lying dead and the other horse jumping. Three men are standing around the wreckage in military uniforms. The painting is signed and dated by the artist on the middle left edge. The painting was used as an illustration for a short story in a magazine.
