The clipping is an excerpt of the story "Hearts and Swords" by Rafael Sabatini. Page forty-six features a full page illustration of two men dueling with swords on the steps of a stone bridge. In the background is a building with wood shutters. The illustration is tinted green. The page is numbered on the lower left corner.
