Object Name Print
Description Hand colored aquatint by Currier and Ives titled "American Homestead Summer." The image depicts a farmhouse in the country. The two-story white house, with a blue roof, and porch, is centered on an incline next to a red barn with a blue roof. Trees and bushes surround the house. A road winds past the house. The driveway is fenced off, and chickens stand in the yard. A carriage pulled by two grey horses drives by. A pasture opposite the house has cows grazing on green grass. In the distance is a lake and beyond that mountains. The sky is blue and pink with white rolling clouds. The image is framed with a black line and is bordered by white. Beneath the print is black text with the artist's names, manufacturer's names, and location, copyright information, and the title printed in block letters. A note, "Trailer," in graphite on the bottom right was written by John Falter.
