Title Print; John Falter; Offset Lithograph; The hand is quicker than the rye!
Object Name Print
Description Color offset lithograph of a saloon scene featuring an orante wood bar, bartender, a showgirl, and a cowboy. A drunk cowboy leans on a bar and embraces a woman in a red corset, skirt, and boots on the left side of the bar. The woman is stealing his wallet from his back pocket. Sitting on the bar and waving a fan is a chimp wearing a fez. A bartender stands at the end of the bar on the right reading a newspaper. A mirror is behind the bar, so the faces of the cowboy and the woman are visible. The ground is littered with money, change, and rubbish. A cat stalks around the side of the bar. The print is bordered in green and black. Beneath the print in a white text box is the title, "The hand is quicker than the rye!". Manufacturer's name and information is printed on the upper left corner. A black stamp with Falter's name and address is affixed to the lower right corner, above the stamp "Receipt" is written. A note is written in ink on the lower right corner: 'Noel Butcher assistant to Mr. Amurotico".
